The Mars Base Opens

The Mars Base platform here at Spaceport UK is now open and ready for visitors, just take the teleport from the sim landing point. The base has been designed to offer avatars a simulation of what it may be like to be among the first colonists to establish a base on the Red Planet. You will find that much emphasis has been placed on your ability to interact with the running of the base, with inputs to control drilling operations, internal temperatures and the number of residents. Base instrumentation provides direct continuous readings of wind speeds, temperatures, power output, consumption and reserves for those long cold Martian nights. In keeping with the necessities of a permanent human colony on Mars, we have also installed In-Situ Resource Utilisation units to draw raw materials from the regolithe and atmosphere to sustain and make possible the long term viability of such a distant human outpost.
You will also find we have a living area, hydroponic garden and a geo bio lab ready to explore. Feel free to take a ride in our Mars rover, but be sure to take refuge when the Martian dust storms begin, or you may find yourself stranded.

Enjoy the experience, and please feel free to blog your trip to us, all the way from the planet Mars, Aso
